Hi Lovelies + Free Design

Hi all! I know it has been an awfully long time since I've posted, about a year and a half.  There have been quite a few reasons that I haven't posted.  I won't go into detail at the moment but primarily schoolwork and my job has kept me extremely occupied even with my home life, and I anticipate the upcoming fall semester will have no shortage of busyness.  So while I have a bit of free time to post, I am going to try to take advantage of it.  But you all didn't come here to hear me ramble I know!

It seems like every time I get onto Instagram or Pinterest I come across something cute related to pineapples.  I have been into digitizing embroidery lately, so I decided to join in on the fun.  This morning I made this pineapple buttonhole design and am now sharing it with you sweeties.

Shop update: Embroidery Designs!

I finally added my first embroidery design to my shop. I'm so excited. I should have done this a loooooong time ago, but I finally got everything set up just right. Now I present to you the Quilted Keychain Wallet design is available for purchase here.  Now I can't wait to add more.

My New Wall-hanging

I bought a clearanced custom frame last year when I worked at Hobby Lobby. It was an odd measurement; the opening measured 12" by 29.5" and it was a natural wood with no stain. I bought it in hopes to turn it into a headboard. I couldn't ever think of any great ideas for a headboard. So it sat in the way until today.

Today I figured I would finally turn this odd frame into a piece of art. So I went to my vintage sheet scraps and pulled a few pieces out and started working. And came up with this:

I'm not sure if I'm going to still use it as a headboard or hang it on the wall. I rested it on my thread rack just for picture purposes.

It's made from some thin muslin, vintage sheet scraps, vintage bias tape, and some of my own machine embroidery. I live the addition of the little birdies testing on top of the bunting. I layered the fabric on top of some felt just for stability before stapling it to the frame.





I didn't sew the bunting pennants down because I like the movement they have when the wind catches them. It seems like a real bunting floating in the wind.

Remember these wips? Well I finished them awhile ago and forgot to post photos of them.

















They are made from vintage sheets and linen. They are fully lined, have an appliqued banner on the front and a coordinated back panel. They measure 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches, roughly.

I am listing them in the shop today.

More owls + {Giveaway}

This weekend I made a load of vintage owl keychain card holders.






Of course they are made of vintage sheets. All of them have striped wings and pockets. They will be in the shop soon.

Owl obsession

So I've been working on a couple of owl-related items lately.
I needed some address labels and couldn't find any that I exactly liked. So I made some from some free Thanksgiving labels that I found on My Owl Barn. I went through and edited it exactly how I wanted, added my info, and voila!!



I love exactly how they turned out. I also made some blank labels like these, so I can wrap around my vintage spice jars turned sewing notions jars.

I also have embroidered a rainbow family of card-toting keychain owls for the shop. These owls were made with the embroidery machine and from vintage sheets. I love how bright they are.

They perfectly keep credit cards, i.d. cards, and business cards in one convenient place. They also are keychains. So you always have everything handy!!



I have had mine for many many months (and if you'd look at it you could tell!) and I LOVE it!!! I barely even use my wallet.

New vinyl clutch order

I just wanted to share with you the bag I made this weekend for one of the young ladies I volunteer with. It has been quite some hardship with this purse, but several swears, a few broken needles, and one nearly broken even-feed foot (which barely held up to its name) later I finally got it done. It's far from perfect, but it has all the elements I was trying to incorporate so I am happy. I hope my customer will be as well. I definitely have to change up some techniques on these bags.



But I'm overall pleased. I got a lot of stuff done this weekend, which doesn't generally happen. I'm glad about being more productive. It feels good. I also digitized this little piece:

I think it's hilarious, especially the moustache!

And I made a quick curtain.
