I've been eyeing the beautiful box bags/ dopp kits, what have you, on flickr and decided it was high time that I tried one out. I was in desperate need of a new makeup bag anyway. It's made from this wonderful, ultra-vibrant sheet I found at a Salvation Army for dirt cheap (yay!). I don't think it's bad for my first attempt (and not following directions properly lol!).
A!
Looks great, Lani! Looking forward to seeing more. I'm a new follower from Swap-bot. Feel free to visit and follow me anytime at Back Porchervations.
ReplyDeleteHeya hun! I'd love to make a cute little makeup bag! Yours is so pretty!!! Ichigoshortcake from swapbot ^^ xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric! Great...Following you from Swap Bot...(Airamty)
ReplyDeletelovely! I have that exact sheet! And a matching pillowcase. Since the sheets tend to be a bit thin, can I ask what you used for the lining and what kind of interfacing you used? I love all your stuff!
ReplyDeleteI actually used 2 things: Craft-fuse interfacing and Pellon heavyweight stabilizer. I love craft-fuse and if I don't have at least a yard at my house then I have to go and buy some. Pellon heavyweight stabilizer is a wonderful product as well. It is firm but also flexible which makes it easy to fold into shape. It doesn't have the fusible adhesive so it does not make your piece too stiff to work with.
